PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To work cooperatively using technical skills to guide efficient, quality maintenance of all grounds and playing fields
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Three years work in grounds maintenance using full array of grounds keeping tools with experience caring for highly manicured fields.
Special Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Three plus year grounds experience or related field
Ability to operate large mowers and tractors
Irrigation system maintenance
Posses a valid class C Texas Drivers License
Ability to operate trucks pulling trailers with equipment
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist Grounds Foreman on day to day activities
- Complete daily reports, logs and material requests as necessary
- Repairs to irrigation systems
- Maintain and perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment
- Assist in field layout and striping
- Attend classes to seek professional growth in field
- Assist in transporting, setup of equipment as necessary for athletic or district events
- Operate large area reel mowers, paint sprayers, and other field maintenance vehicles and equipment
- Ability to work independently as directed by the Grounds Foreman
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying (up to 75 pounds). Operate machinery. Work outside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures, loud noises, chemicals, paints, and solvents. Modified work schedule and over time as necessary to support athletic events.
