Primary Purpose:
Supports  Speech Language  Pathologists or other assessment staff in scheduling and notification of ARD/IEP Meetings. Contacts parents to remind them of ARD meetings and completes ARD/IEP paperwork as directed by professional staff. Files ARD/IEP paperwork in state eligibility folders/system. Completes record requests for special services staff. Types reports and/or prepares data records for professional staff. Provides general clerical assistance to professional staff at Special Services as needed. Work under general supervision of Director of Special Services and immediate direction of Assistant Director and professional staff.


Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent


Experience
Prior experience working with special education data preferred

 

Special Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of and ability to use a computer
Ability to communicate with teachers, administrators, parents and related services staff in a
positive manner
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare and disseminate ARD/IEP notices ad directed
2. Copy and disseminate modifications of IEP’s to all required staff members on campuses
3. Assist professional staff in coordinating and scheduling of ARD/IPE meetings
4. Keep all records of all students in the Special Education Program
5. Make copies of ARDs, IEPs, schedules and ARD notices
6. Prepare, type, and disseminate need special education records as requested
7. Coordinate records between campuses and Special Services office
8. Assist with filing in Special Education office
9. Assist with data input for PEIMS
Other duties as assigned such as:
1. General word processing
2. Coordinate ESY paperwork
3. Answer phones
4. Copy and submit records for requesting districts and/or staff through TREX
5. Assist professional staff with software programs
6. Assist in other clerical duties
