Primary Purpose:

Perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment and network and software applications throughout the district.  Respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and computer hardware.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

Associates degree in technology related field preferred

APlus Certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills

Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications troubleshooting and repair

Knowledge of DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and Windows NT

Basic knowledge of network operating systems

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Assist, diagnose, resolve any problems relating to the networking of technology equipment

Perform network installations and relocations as needed

Perform installation and repairs as scheduled by Help Desk

Assist in the maintenance of district technology inventory

Keep detailed technical support records

Assist in maintaining accurate Help Desk records

Perform detailed phone support as needed

Assist in maintaining the technology warehouse

Perform other duties as assigned by the lead technician or Director of Technology

 

Working Conditions

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmentl Factors:

Climbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling; frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test equipment; frequent district-wide travel, must provide own transportation.  Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
