Primary Purpose: To provide water supply, sewer maintenance, gas supply and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of fundamental principals of plumbing practices and plumbing code
Must be able to accurately diagnose and properly repair plumbing and kitchen equipment
Must properly utilize gas testing equipment
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain facility plumbing fixtures, boilers, water heaters, drinking fountains and other equipment
- Provide new plumbing needs i.e. water supply, sewer/drains and gas supply
- Detention pond pump inspections, maintenance and repairs
- Assist with other departments as needed
- Fill out records/reports
- Assist with the water well and sewage plant maintenance
- Perform back flow test, gas testing and irrigation repairs
- Perform roof drain inspections and repairs
- Install new and maintain existing storm drains as needed
- Pursue personal educational growth pertaining to plumbing methods and kitchen equipment repairs
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to perform any additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls
EQUIPMENT USED:
Drills, saws, sewer machine, acetylene torch, hammers, vice, grinders, cutting (pipe) tools
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Demands:
Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting-over 45 pounds. Responsibilities of the position can cause and require irregular work hours.
Environment:
Work outside and inside; Exposure to hot and cold temperatures; Work in confined spaces; Work with high voltage equipment; Work with hot and cold equipment; Work with toxic chemicals:; Work in wet areas.
