Primary Purpose:  

To assist in providing supervision and coordination of work necessary to maintain electrical power supply for all district buildings. Provide services as a licensed journeyman electrician.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Minimum Experience: 8 years

Special Knowledge and Skills:

Must have a Texas Journeyman Electrical License

Ability to accurately diagnose electrical mechanical failures and repair same

Ability to install electrical power supply raceway, wiring, and equipment

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings

Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software programs

Demonstrate acceptable supervisory skills.

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Assist in supervising day to day work needs of electrical and kitchen equipment.
  2. Estimate cost and installs additional power supply and lighting as needed.
  3. Maintain existing power supply equipment.    
  4. Maintain various types of ventilation equipment
  5. Assist as needed with energy management program as it relates to lighting controls
  6. Assist other crafts as needed.
  7. Maintain records and reports as necessary.
  8. Pursue education to stay abreast of change or advances in electrical equipment or electrical codes.
  9. Maintain all types of electrical equipment and lighting fixtures
  10. Maintain tools and equipment.
  11. Respond to after-hour emergency calls
  12. Demonstrate a willingness and positive attitude toward performing other duties as assigned.

 

EQUIPMENT USED:

Volt/amp meters, drills, ladders, saws, pipe bending equipment, ditch digging equipment, aerial lifts, bucket trucks                

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Demands:                                                                                                                                                                           

Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting - over 45 pounds. Responsibilities of the position can cause and require irregular work hours.
