Substitute nurses are assigned to campuses throughout the district on an as-needed basis and are compensated at a rate of $100.00 per day.

 

Education/Skills/Experience:

 

Application Requirements:

 

1)  Online application

 

2)  Evidence of required college hours via an official transcript attached to online application or provided directly to Human Resources

 

3)  Evidence of a current Texas RN or LVN license

 

4)  Clear background check (conducted electronically at the time of application)

 

5)  Receipt of three professional references (requested electronically at the time of application)

 

6)  Either successful completion of TISD's fingerprinting procedure ($47 fee) or evidence of prior fingerprinting by the Texas Education Agency (other agency fingerprints may not be used, i.e. child care facilities, concealed handgun license, etc.)

 

7)  Successful completion of an Orientation session with the Director of Health Services

 

8)  Submission of completed New Substitute Paperwork, presentation of acceptable forms of ID for the I-9/Employment Eligibility Form, and benefits elections

 

Individuals who complete these steps will receive a substitute ID badge and online access to the AESOP/Absence Management system to begin fulfilling assignments.
