Primary Purpose:

Assist the school nurse by assuming routine record keeping activities, filing, check students into the clinic, assist with administrating minor first aid care, and assist with health screenings.  Work under the immediate guidance and direction of the school nurse.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

High School diploma or GED

Previous office work experience preferred

 

Special Knowledge and Skills:

Certification in basic first aid and CPR – Training will be offered.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills a must

Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills

Computer comfortable

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).  Bilingual a plus.

 

Experience:

One year experience in health-related position, including contact with school-age children

Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Moderate walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Responsibilities require contact with individuals that may include exposure to disruptive behavior.
